Contract Professionals
With a booming economy and the lowest unemployment rate in decades the
demand for quality temporary / contract workers is at an all time high.
Temping or contracting is no longer filing and typing at minimum wage.
While administrative positions still make up most of the temporary market
- companies are hiring temps or contractor at all levels from the CFO
to the custodian.
If you are considering temping or contracting consider these points:
- Flexibility Temporary or contract positions can offer individuals
the opportunity to continue working at their own pace and their own
schedule. If you only want to work during the school year or some other
portion of the year, consider contract and/or temp assignments.
- Between jobs? Continue to have income while searching for a
direct opportunity.
- Expand your Network Short-term assignments offer a change in
pace as well as allow you to meet other professionals in your field.
- No long-term commitment If you don't like company, people or
pace, you can simply move on to the next position.
- Build on your experience Contracting or temping allows you
to focus on a specific project and fine-tune your skill set.
- Do what you like to do Accept projects that you enjoy working
on and then move on to the next without making your resume look like
you're job-hopping.
Temping and/or Contracting are not for everyone but it's also not forever.
In today's market place, there is always a need for good quality temporary
or contract employees who can come in and quickly assist a company to
meet its goals and objectives.
