Senior HR Director

Senior HR Director 1115 to 130k Boston This is a perm role with some remote dates and flexibility with hours. In this role you will be responsible for all day-to-day operations for the HR department. The incumbent supervises a staff of four (4) HR professionals ensuring that quality standards and processes are followed and that the agency is in compliance with labor laws. This role also monitors performance; develops and delivers new employee training; coordinates professional development training opportunities; and communicates information related to employee benefits and compensation. Essential Functions: 1. Evaluate and advise impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact attraction, motivation, development and retention of people resources. 2. Translate strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans. 3. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. 4. Working with the company’s executive management team, establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives. 5. Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals. 6. Establish credibility throughout the organization in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. 7. Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective for company. 8. Provide advice and guidance to management as needed during labor relations contract negotiations, including drafting proposals and facilitating meetings with union representatives 9. Oversee collective bargaining procedures, including working with attorney drafting, reviewing and modifying proposals, verifying legal contract terminology and suggesting additional rules and regulations as necessary 10. Create policies and procedures to Communicate effectively with managers, executives and union representatives to create positive working environment, assure the HR department addresses worker grievances and verify compliance with contractual protocols 11. Analyze current work contracts and human resources policies to determine overall state of employee relations and make innovative changes to improve morale, efficiency and overall performance 12. Manage labor grievances as needed by investigating circumstances of incident, validity of claims, adherence to contract policies and completion of resolution procedures 13. Coordinate with HR and other departments to create and sustain positive employee relations and facilitate effective communications between employees and management Competencies: • Strong leadership skills • Solid teamwork and collaboration skills • Excellent organizational and analytical skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Experience in labor relations and employee relations. • Knowledge of labor laws.
