Machine Shop Supervisor To 110K This established busy Machining Manufacturer is in need of a Team Lead in this large CNC Machining operation with many growth opportunities. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager this position is also Bonus eligible. Summary of primary duties and responsibilities: • • Responsible for implementation of Change Control Board (CCB) actions. • • Lead and manage performance through frequent feedback. Evaluate direct reports performance and provide support/recommendations for areas in need of improvement. Issue disciplinary actions and participate in terminations as required. • • Coordinate the introduction of new products into production working in conjunction with Quality and Engineering. • • Plan, organize and control production activity and workforce to ensure requirements are fulfilled. • • Ensure direct reports are cross trained within the cell. • • Monitor and leverage use of e-mail to communicate to other functional departments (i.e. Customer Service), dissipate and communicate information both verbally/written and address with group as well as communicate resource needs and coordinate those needs with other team leaders. • • Communicate effectively and professionally. Hold regular cell meetings. • • Serve on the Safety Team and demonstrate an understanding of Safety procedures and practices are being followed. • • Monitor cell specific metrics and ensure fulfillment of order requests (i.e. Corporate Metric Fill Rate and Quality/Safety), leveraging KPIs to enhance performance. • • Plan and coordinate overtime work as required. • • Payroll – Approve direct report time off requests (i.e. vacation, sick, floating holiday, unpaid time, etc.) Resolve timecard issues and missed punches. • • Order material using R+ reports (backup). • • Inventory integrity including responsibility of WIP inventory accuracy (i.e. cycle counting), manage supplies through purchasing. • • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) process. • • Perform team member tasks as needed such as set-up and operation of equipment and inspections. • • Proactive approach to problem solving and resolving concerns in a timely manner. • • Ensure organization and good housekeeping practices. • • Run key Lean initiatives - 5S and Kaizen events. Create, launch and sustain lean initiatives to improve productivity and efficiencies. • • Act as a Change Leader to support organizational improvements Qualifications/Requirements: • • High school diploma/GED; technical/trade school training/certifications is a plus. • • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a machine shop. • • CNC/Milling Programming is a plus. • • Experience running CNC equipment preferred. • • Inventory control knowledge. • • Strong verbal and written communication skills • • Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions). • • Ability to bend and lift up to 35 lbs. • • Requires up to 8 hrs. standing on a concrete floor. • Position Located in Braintree Ma.
