Purchasing Manager To 120K This young and growing electronic medical device manufacturer has added this newly created position due to their rapid growth. The client is a division of a Fortune 500 company with an excellent benefit package and an opportunity for growth. Reporting to the Director of Materials. SUMMARY: Responsible for Managing the entire Supply base and carrying out purchasing/planning of Direct/Indirect spend items in support of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and the organization’s needs. Analyze, execute the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) function for all direct spend items. Evaluates and manages suppliers to assure best pricing, delivery, quality. Strategically manages supplier risk, assure continuity of supply, and achieve company cost and inventory initiatives. Manages, coaches, and evaluates purchasing staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned • Manage the entire supply base to ensure supply, price, quality of the items purchased and mitigate supply risks • Analyze the MRP output and make strategic purchasing decisions • Maintain strong relationships and negotiate with suppliers • Establish agreements (Supply, Quality, etc. and Terms) with suppliers as required to assure supply, compliance and department objectives are met • Source new suppliers, report on suppliers, delivery, quality, and cost reduction performance • Execute the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) function to ensure supply and appropriate inventory levels are achieved. • Maintain item master accuracy as it relates to Direct purchased items • Purchase all Indirect materials to support the business • Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs • Coach, evaluate and supervise purchasing personnel • Monitor approval status of purchase orders and regularly report part shortages to affected persons • Follow all company policies regarding travel, expenses, meetings, and meals EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience preferred • Experience with supply chain and inventory management systems to include analyzing of data • Excellent organizational, analytical and leadership skills • 10+ years materials purchasing experience in manufacturing preferred; experience with medical equipment manufacturing. o Product Engineering, manufacturing engineering, fab management and/or operations in a certified manufacturing organization (ISO 13485 preferred) o Experience with new product introduction teams o FDA regulations experience • Experience in materials management, from planning through purchasing, negotiation, and administration of multi-million-dollar procurement agreements • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Techniques and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) • Experience with the full range of worldwide sub-contract manufacturers and familiarity with their capabilities, pricing strategies, and negotiation tactics COMPUTER SKILLS • You must be comfortable with technology, and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome
